Uhuru Clothing to host Dallas fundraiser for famine victims in Kenya

As famine continues to ravage some parts of Kenya, Kenyans of goodwill continue to do their part to help those affected and have donated millions of shillings for the needy cause.

One such Kenyan who has come out to help in this noble cause is Tom Mwicigi, the proprietor of Uhuru Clothing, which is a Dallas based fashion house.

Uhuru Clothing in conjunction with the greater African Dallas Community, Music Orchestrating Miracles is putting together a benefit concert dubbed “GIVE AFRICA HOPE” this event will include musical performances by brothers Peetah and Gramps Morgan as well as upcoming artiste, Jboog. More  international Artists are expected at the event which is scheduled in Dallas TX for Friday 23rd Sept and Sat 24th, 2011

“Gramps and Peetah Morgan have agreed to work with us at Uhuru Clothing to help with the famine relief efforts in Kenya and the entire horn of Africa region, in an effort to give back to a country that has shown them so much love when it comes to music,“ says Mwicigi who says his company has designed a new shirt “Give Africa Hope” and all profits will go to the Kenyans4kenyan initiative.

Gramps and Peetah Morgan are planning on going to Kenyain October where they will participate in various projects related to the famine relief efforts. They also hope to travel to Northern Kenya where they will help with distribution of the various supplies to the communities there.

Uhuru Clothing will visit the areas in December.

UC is currently working with UNICEF and are looking to work directly with those in Kenya to ensure the funds raised get to the most needed areas.
