Search for help
The man is said to have lent his father, 62, the cash and in the morning threatened to kill him unless he paid up.
The assailant’s brother is said to have asked a village elder to intervene to end the dispute, but he was turned away.
The brother went to the local police station for help where he was told to go and wait for officers at home.
At 7 pm on Monday, his brother reportedly came out of his house armed with two rungus, headed straight to the parents’ house and slapped his mother. His father intervened and the two fought.
When the dust settled, the old man lay dead with a deep cut on his head.
The assailant was arrested.
