John and Rose Kimani
Kenyans living in the Virginia Beach/Chesapeake area are facing an emergency that they wish to share with the rest of the Kenyans.
One of their own, a dear brother from Kenya, John Mwangi Kimani, has been diagnosed with stage four kidney failure (this is the final stage before the system shuts down) which requires immediate surgery and transplant.
Mr. Kimani does not have insurance and because of that, the only way he can get this done quickly is to go back to Kenya where one of his family members has volunteered to donate a kidney for him.
The transplant will be performed by Dr. Kioko at the Nairobi hospital at a projected cost of Ksh. 1.2 – 1.6 million (about $20,000). Friends and family members have organized a Fundraising meeting on October 9 at Norfolk, VA to help to raise the money.

Brother John has to leave for Kenya by the end of October to have the transplant and avoid any further deterioration of in his entire health. There will be another fundraiser on October 23 to try and finance any remaining portion of the projected budget.
