A baby was killed on Thursday when a man and his wife quarrelled over a quarter kilogramme of meat.
The father of three had brought the meat home and was roasting it when his four-year-old son asked for a piece.
The father hit the boy with a stick for his trouble.
And when the boy’s mother, who was holding a nine-month-old baby girl protested, the man tried to hit her with the stick but missed and struck the child, killing her instantly.
As the couple quarrelled, the meat burnt to a cinder.
Marakwet East District police chief Elijah Maina said the man had been arrested and would be charged in court.
